All-State Chorus (2/11/08)

Please congratulate the following juniors and seniors who were chosen by audition for All-State Chorus. Of the 24 delegates chosen from our District, 12 are Langley students!! They will be attending the event in Harrisonburg on April 24 - 26.

District XII Honors Chorus (11/4/07)

On Saturday, November 3rd, seventy-three of our choral students auditioned for the District XII Honors Chorus; fifty were selected to participate! Members of the Honors Chorus represent the best high school chorus students in our district. Four of our students placed first in the District (Caroline Dunigan, Soprano I, Women's Choir; Ariana Gover-Chamlou, Alto 1, Women's Choir; Katie Leslie, Soprano 1, Mixed Choir; and Kelly Chung, Alto 1, Mixed Choir) and four placed second (Kelly Hubbell, Soprano 1, Women's Choir; Ariana Zell, Alto 2, Women's Choir; Lauren Bailey, Alto 1, Mixed Choir; and Erik Matson, Bass 1, Mixed Choir). The District XII Honors Chorus will perform in early February at Herndon High School. Juniors and Seniors selected for the Honors Chorus are eligible to audition for the All-Virginia (All-State) Chorus.

VMEA Honors Choir (10/14/07)

On Saturday, October 6th, five hundred forty-nine seniors from across the State of Virginia auditioned for the Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) Honors Choir; only one hundred thirty-two were chosen, and six of those are our students! Congratulations to seniors Melissa Solomon (Soprano 1), Kelly Chung (Alto 1), James Rosenquist (Tenor 1), Jack Marsh (Tenor 2), Andrew Paulson (Bass 1), and Alex Lim (Bass 2). In addition, within their sections, Kelly Chung, James Rosenquist, and Alex Lim each placed second; Andrew Paulson placed third; and Jack Marsh placed fourth! This year's Honors Choir will perform at the VMEA Annual Convention, November 15-17, 2007, in Norfolk, Virginia.

2007-08 Voicemale Roster Revealed (9/21/07)

Congratulations to the following students for being selected to this year's Voicemale: Tenors - Chris Anderson, Adam Check, Sean Fischer, Jack Marsh, James Rosenquist, and Peter Wiese. Basses - Matt Anderson, Paul Goldberg, Robert Higgins, Daniel Lowen, Eric Matson, and Andrew Paulson.

2007-08 Madrigals Debut! (9/7/07)

After practicing together for only two class periods, the 2007-08 Madrigals debuted at the home opener football game against Thomas Jefferson with a terrific performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner."
