Mac Lambert is in his tenth year as the Director of Choral Activities at Langley High School. He holds a B.M. in Music Education and an M.M. in Voice Performance from James Madison University. He also holds a D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Dr. Lambert is an active singer in the Washington, D.C. area. He has performed with the Woodley Ensemble and is the featured conductor of their recording entitled "The Old Hymns." Dr. Lambert also performed with the Washington National Cathedral Choir of Men, Boys, and Girls for the past fifteen years.
Before coming to Langley, Dr. Lambert served for six years as Head Choral Director at Woodbridge Senior High School in Woodbridge, Virginia. Previously, he was the Choral Director at Ripley High School in Ripley, Ohio, and a teaching assistant at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. While in Cincinnati, Dr. Lambert sang with the Vocal Arts Ensemble and was a soloist and section leader at Christ Church Cathedral. He has also served as the Assistant Choral Director at Garfield High School in Woodbridge, Virginia, as well as an adjunct faculty member at James Madison University and Mary Baldwin College.
Choirs under Dr. Lambert’s direction have consistently received superior ratings in District and National events. In March 2011, all four Langley Choirs attending the Heritage Music Festival in Orlando, Florida were awarded gold first place medals. In addition, the Madrigals, Women's Chamber Choir, and Concert Choir received Adjudicator's Awards and Langley won the Choral Sweepstakes Award for having the two highest scoring choirs in the festival. In April 2008, the choirs performed a concert tour of Italy, visiting the cities of Rome, Florence, and Venice.
Dr. Lambert has served as a guest clinician and adjudicator for various District events throughout the state, including the District V Honors Choir and the Rockingham County All-City/County Chorus. He is also the past President of the Virginia Chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association.
