Spring Trip

Our annual Spring Choir Trip has become a favorite LHS Choral Department tradition. Each spring, choir members vote to choose the competition in which they will participate the following spring. Past competitions have taken us to Atlanta, New York City, Orlando, San Antonio, and San Diego. In 2008, the choirs travelled on their first international trip, performing in Italy for audiences in Rome, Florence, and Venice!

This spring, we will be traveling to an international music festival and competition in Prague, followed by a musical tour of Vienna and Salzburg.

A valid passport is required for every traveler.  Renew your passport if it expires before October 15, 2012.  If you do not currently have a passport, apply as soon as possible.  All travelers must have a valid passport before November 15, 2011

Spring Trip FAQs

2011-12 Spring Trip Forms

Spring Trip forms will be posted as we get closer to departure.

There are often many questions regarding the medical forms.  Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:

  • Students are not allowed to pack or carry medication of any kind, even OTC, even if they are already 18 because this is a school-sponsored trip.  Chaperones will carry medications for their student groups.  All medication will be turned over at check-in on day of departure.
  • If you student carries an inhaler, you need to provide a copy of the inhaler authorizaiton.  Even if you have one on file with the school clinic, our chaperones cannot be responsible for getting a copy from the clinic.  Please do this yourself and submit with the other forms.
  • You must provide a medication authorization form for each and every medication that your student takes, including over the counter medications.  You should provide any OTC medications that your student might need.
  • On the forms, please be clear about times and/or intervals for medication.  The terms "am" and "pm" are not adequate.
  • You will need to provide the medication in the actual pharmacy package with the correct label on it.  Do not send medication in pill boxes or baggies.
  • If your student has a serious medical or medication situation that warrants further explanation, you may contact lead chaperone.
