G. Graham Green III Memorial Music Competition
(12/01/2009) The Rotary Club of McLean offers an opportunity to high school students in Northern Virginia to compete in Rotary District 7610's G. Graham Green III Memorial Music Competition, with prizes of as much as $3000.00.
Each Contestant must:
- Have a love for music and must be an 11th or 12th grade student of a high school located in District 7610
- Have a reasonable ability to play a musical instrument or sing
- Be sponsored by a District 7610 Rotary Club to be eligible for any awards
- Use the scholarship award for future musical educational expenses
The McLean Rotary Club will hold its competition in February, 2010, on a date convenient for the eligible students and the club. The McLean Club may select one or more than one student from that competition to go on to the Semi-finals held in Fredericksburg on March 29, 2010. From the Semi-final competition, three Finalists will be selected to perform at Kings Mill Resort in Williamsburg on Saturday, May 1, 2010, in connection with the Rotary District 7610 Conference, and winners will receive an anticipated $3,000 for 1st, $1,500.00 for 2nd, and $500.00 for 3rd toward future musical instruction expenses at the school of their choice.
