Spring Trip

Our annual Spring Choir Trip has become a favorite LHS Choral Department tradition. Each spring, choir members vote to choose the competition in which they will participate the following spring. Past competitions have taken us to Atlanta, New York City, Orlando, San Antonio, and San Diego. In 2008, the choirs travelled on their first international trip, performing in Italy for audiences in Rome, Florence, and Venice, and in 2012, our choirs performed internationally in Prague, Vienna, and Salzburg, including the Young Prague International Music Festival where they received gold and silver medals.

Our spring trip to San Diego, California is fast approaching and plans are well underway!  We will be staying at the Marriott Mission Valley http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/sanmv-san-diego-marriott-mission-valley/. Our package this year includes a full Saturday pass to SeaWorld and gala awards ceremony, dinner and dance while there.   In addition to the Heritage Music Festival, the choir will take part in several activities including a beach day at Belmont Park http://www.belmontpark.com/, shopping at Seaport Village http://www.seaportvillage.com/ and beautiful Old Town San Diego http://www.oldtownsandiegoguide.com/, dining on a scenic Harbor Cruise and taking in the sights at the world famous San Diego Zoo http://www.sandiegozoo.org/.

The Heritage trip website page for the Langley choir trip is up and all chaperones and students must go online and register. The registration process insures that:

  • 1. Each traveler’s name appears on the registration list for hotel rooming list assignment.
  • 2. Each traveler is guaranteed coverage under our included insurance policies.
  • 3. WorldStrides has immediate access to emergency contact information for each of our guests.
  • 4. Each traveler is aware of our Terms & Conditions and our Behavior Code.
  • 5. Students have access to our Discovery for Credit website, which offers them the opportunity to earn high school academic credit through online course work and travel experience.

Please be on the lookout for student handouts and email communications regarding trip details. Langley’s choirs have always done exceptionally well on our trips and the students have really enjoyed their time together. Last year, we had a wonderful international trip where all four choirs competed in the Young Prague International Music Festival! In addition to performing at the festival, the students were able to sing in beautiful churches and incredible venues as we traveled throughout Prague, Vienna and Salzburg! We are excited to the majority  of the choral department participate in this year’s festival in beautiful San Diego, California!
